How to promote your business.
How do you get more consistent work?
Are you feeling thirsty for more business?
It's often a long time between customer drinks, for most businesses.
Your clients don't need you very often, do they.
Why can't that be fixed?
It can.
“Would you like fries with that?”
That annoying little phrase, is worth tens of millions of dollars to McDonalds.
1 in 10 people change their order to include fries!
If you could have 1:10 of your customers increase what they buy from you, just
by adding a phrase like that, to your quote process, would you be prepared to
make the change?
A True Story: how to promote your business:
I was getting new tyres at 'Jax Tyres' the other day. After discussing (and
agreeing to) the type of tyres they would put on my car, I was asked another
question:
"Would you like Helium gas in them to keep them cool? It increases the wear."
It seemed a sensible thing to do - I said yes.
* They added $11 per tyre to my bill and I went away satisfied.
Did I go in there in search of Helium, to slow down the tyre wear process?
No.
Get the picture?
It's the 'add on' sales technique that most businesses fail to take advantage
of.
Why do I know this?
* 98% of the businesses I've interviewed (for free - [1]email me) tell me they
have the potential of 'value added services' or related products, but few draw
on this well of cool fresh water.
Why not be a 'one stop shop'?
Offer all you can, to keep clients inside your 'store'. Then remind them, that
they never have to go anywhere else, to spend their money.
Once upon a time . . . Woolworths only sold groceries . . . get the picture?
How to promote your business is simply a matter of 1 2 3.
1. You could just get more customers. 120 clients is better than 50 isn’t it?
2. You could increase the average number of times a customer uses your service per year.
If you could just get those clients who use you yearly, to use you 6 monthly, and those who call for work monthly, to call fourtnightly, that’d increase your business, wouldn’t it?
3. Also, you could increase the average amount each client spends with you.

More local work.
"We tried Paul's 3X3 system of handing out our business cards to 'Sticky Beak'
neighbours of our customers.
We were skeptical . . . but it worked.
We get more local enquiries, and 20% of them turn into work."
