How to get more customers.
Guess what,
you're not in the business of getting more customers.
"What do you mean Paul, of course I need more customers!
How am I going to pay my bills and beat my competition without more customers?"
I hear you. Please bare with me as I draw on two illustrations to make this clear.
You may remember the 'Debt Recovery Tool Kit' (yes, you can click on the link or the image to go there) I released a few months ago with the video of the solicitor Brett Crowley who chases overdue accounts for you - for FREE.
Many of you have hit the reply button to my email, asking for Brett's phone number.
I'm thrilled to report that EVERYBODY who has used Brett's service has got paid the $thousands that was owed to them.
Why did I go to all the trouble to publish the info about Brett?
Was it to make money out of you? NO.
I've been told by other bloggers I should have made it a $58 product and sold it!
Was it because Brett pays me a commission for sending people to him? NO. He never pays me a cent.
Why would I spend hours creating a useful toolkit knowing I was not going to profit from it?
Hold that thought.
Here's another example, to demonstrate why you aren't in the business of getting more customers:
Remember last week I released the joint venture we are undertaking with CAM Events to put on an evening of networking with the property managers, architects, strata managers and developers?
This event in July will be a laid back opportunity for you to connect with the decision makers in larger firms, exchange business cards and discuss the sort of work they need help with.
How to get more customers? I don't think so.
Why am I going to all this effort to stage this event?
Was it to make money out of you? NO.
Was it because CAM events want to make money with this event? NO.
It's certainly not to gain more people on my mailing list, because it is an invitation only event.
Those who have completed one of my courses or workshops will have the first 'bite of the cherry' to attend, then others through a strict priority schedule.
My motivation in both examples above was NOT to get more paying customers!
I did those things so I could get more customers for life.
I want you to tap or click on the following YouTube video. All will be revealed.
Who is this guy?
He's one of MY mentors (Yes, I have mentors too!), Derek Halpern.
Why should you listen to what he has to say?
Because, like me, he says you are not in the business of getting more customers and he goes on to show you why.
Go ahead, click on his video - you'll be pleasantly surprised at what you hear.
Thanks for watching,
It makes you think doesn't it.
Getting more customers isn't the main game.
Till next time,
Paul Johnson
